We rode the bus, as usual, but this ride was a bit different, however. We had three young girls get on the bus and they came straight to sit by me. They didn’t say much and we were the only ones on the bus for a while. Finally they giggled and asked me if they could take a picture with me! (Thankfully my translator was with me!) I felt like a celebrity.
A couple of the nationals, including my translator, thought I looked like Gian Marco, a grammy winning singer in Peru. Although this is a great compliment to me, I honestly don’t see it. I did enjoy the attention for a moment, but I am sure that Gian Marco would feel insulted if he knew he was compared to me.
