Mission Trip 2013 – Day 7

Day 7 was bitter sweet.  It was the last day in the field for our team.  We said goodbye to many of the great people that we had met during the week.

After we left Picol, I hit the town on my own and headed to the local Starbucks.  I just found out that I would be preaching the final celebration meeting that night.  It would be my first ever sermon with a translator.

Starbucks are very similar everywhere (I assume), but the ones in Peru had bouncers that would remove you if you didn’t get coffee.

I only had about 2 hours to prepare, but God provided a Word- like only He can!

The closing ceremonies were great and Joey was able to lead all of the new churches in worship.  It was really unusual, because each person worshiped in their own language!

day 7 closing program 1We said goodbye to the Luna family as well and got one last picture of our Picol team.  It was an honor to work on the mission field with these people!
